Okay, this topic came to my head after listening to kaoz’ “the long and grizly road to futility”. This song is just mindblowing, and yet it has only a few hits. So I thought about starting a thread in which we can suggest songs that completely amazed you, but only a few people have heard apparently. However, to avoid this would result in an endless series of spamming and replying, I think we ought to respect a few guidelines:

- you cannot advertize your own songs (obvious anti-spam measurement)
- the song has to have been on Ebel for at least a week . It’s only natural that songs that have been here for only 2 or 3 days have but a few hits. Besides, that number is bound to go up anyway if the song is still listed under latest 50.
- Mention user, song title, style and maybe a short song description (it’s not because one person thinks it’s great suddenly everyone will listen to it, a lot depends on the genre probably)
- The song must have only very few hits and/or reviews
- Try to limit your suggestions to once a week . If everyone starts advertizing for 5 songs a week, it would become hard to keep track of all these posts and still keep an eye on the new uploads too. Besides, I think there are only very few tracks that really amaze you in such an effective way that you think they should be mentioned here. I even doubt that there will be that many posts anyway, since this topic would be meant for those few “unknown songs” that really are mindblowing.

Okay, I hope that some unknown killer tracks will be revealed in here...

Anyway, I’ll start, my suggestion for this week:

User: kaoz
Song: the long ang grizly road to futility
Style: electropop
In short: This is really hard shit to make, I find it to be a mix of Depeche Mode and VNV Nation, and it’s got this great mechanical feeling.

Good idea indeed.

hard to choose (looks a bit in his favorites...), i'll say shenandoahs's sur mes cils

it's a long TripHop like track, with sounds that are a bit 'cliché'. but the ambience and feeling coming out of the track is very pleasant. During the track a female voice is saying some nice poem like lyrics.

hi all!
latest times, i'm really going into minimal (i am for about 3 years now, but now it is really getting worse!). i like the minimal, because it has so much room for variations and layers. that's why i'm getting more and more interested in playing semi-live, when i play minimal: pc with ableton, EFX, cd, pu,... i tried it a mont ago, and the virus has bitten me :D
after this, you can conclude why mine goes to Jokke: Lobster salad !!!
that track is soo deep and minimal! it has icecool glitches and cracles and it is fed with deeper-than-the-deepest-cave-baseline! you should also check out Jokke's other works, he is really awsome (i like his minimal stuff so much!)
and now i'm running, also check out hoffmann (his latest minimal-stuff is kick-arse) and psychobass (i just LOVE his "no philosophy").
herby, my minimal g-r-e-e-t-z;)

ok so my favorite song fr this moment is RoachBugincan 's When Marty was there.. its filed under electronika
I really like this song a lot, its really simple but so intense at the same time, it can make me laugh and cry... Fin bon, probably some of you can't appreciate this kind of muzik, but i really love it!
You don't need a studio filled with expensive hardware to make beautiful songs... just 1 synth, a mouse and a nice feeling.. :!

I liked the idea very much...but if it's "friend promotes friend" i loose all intrest.
We should find some other criteria (songs that are a bit forgotten (older than half a year rather than older than a week) but have very few hits (less than 50 or about that) are more likely to be promoted and resurfaced.
In that case i "resurface": slowrgasm by lazerguy (ambient section) (dates from january 2004 - 47 hits) And you can't blame me for promoting a friend, he's from Liège and has left the Electrobel Building februari 2004! I wasn't even an ebeller then!

i agree that we shouldn't put the new ones in the spotlight, but the old ones that don't have much hits though very good as well! something like the "ebel-renaissance":D

I'm only posting here when I'm really blown away by a track... but I just stumbled upon this:

user: Rantferox
title: steel loving you
style: electro

It really amazed me, a bit minimal but at the same time there's a special grandeur to it. Too bad so few have heard it as of yet...
