For starters:
read the introtext on the homepage
read the FAQ first
take the time to look around... you're not going to leave us the next day are you? Things will be clear once you take the time to get used to it. I always thought of Electrobel as super userfriendly, apparently not for everyone.

if some things still aren't clear well...ask a moderator or an older user and there's always Zark (especially for bugs and programming stuff)

The most important thing to me is that new users make sure they have a decent profile filled with rigorously selected information about yourself... no bullshitting I mean.
And then of course... upload your music. As much as you have... but take care on the BASIC EBEL RULES: no copyrighted stuff ( & no Sabam registered stuff even if its your own).

Another advice to newbies could be, to customize your startpage in a way that you always have an eye on the forums, the wall and the comments of your songs ("my comments").
Simply click on 'customize' at the bottom of your startpage to select which boxes should appear. Then you can customize a box by clicking on the 'mod' link.

and finally Sozialize! on the forum, on the wall.

Ebel is a comunity, not a song hosting website.

And if you have any questions... do never hesitate to ask.

new users might also appreciate this tool:

and there's also this feature, which I find very intersting for new users:

Wanna see where other members are ?

How about adding yourself to our map ?

I'm fairly new here and really don't have anything to complain about. Everything pretty much explains itself.
Just one question, how can you lure more people into listening to and commenting on your songs. (besides commenting on others, and making badass songs off course)
This might be a really dumb question, I know, just making shure I didn't miss anything...

Well, as you said, it's more or less about frequently commenting other people songs and name-fame... If your a bit known in the scene as a good producer you'll get loads of hits (harry for example, or despo)....
If you comment other peoples songs they'll be more likely to listen to yours....
In conclusion: all the people who get lots of comments have been on ebel for some time and are farely good (the longer they are on ebel the more they've aproved, the better their songs=> more comments
+ the longer on ebel, the more they've commented on others=> more comments)
additionally I'd like to say that once you're on ebel for some time you'll actually will get to know people in person!
I have a big range of ebel people I have on my msnlist and with whom I chat about music, producing, everyday stuff & even hook up with from time to time!!

on topic: my first ebelexperience was AWESOME!!! I made a dubstep tune (I think one of the first ever on ebel in that time (before the dubstepsection)) and I think it was becouse dubstep was pretty new as a genre lots of people commented positively, giving directions^^ (but honestly, damn it was crap)

same here, and for lots of others.
and indeed ,takes a while to "know" your public and connections here, but its sooooo much worth taking the trip.

well to answer babbaracos;try to put or mention links to your ebel-tracks on other sites (I only have it on my space though)...that and mouth to mouth...euh...mouth to ear (?)....you know...yeah,mouth to mouth...I think...

Yeah we'll be coming to the ebel bbq on the 26th, looking forward to that (especially the workshops seem interesting)
And it's not that we don't get any comments (they are fairly positive if I might add - but then again we're the next best thing so I didn't expect otherwise ;-))
