indeed, if it has to be cheap, the truth's are the best option, for that price, there's hardly competition ( forget the edirols )

forget about those edirols. €15 pc speakers are better than that crap. happy behringer truth user here, although i havent had the chance to compare much with other monitors.

Have a look at www.musicstore.de    you got much better then Beringher  and cheaper too.

I got some Samson resolv actives monitors   im very pleased with em   its was a bit more then 250€  but now its even cheaper.
Dont buy in Belgium, im sorry to say that  but its cheaper outside...

I paid about 350 for a pair of stanton atm1, which are rebranded krk rp6's

I'm very very happy with them (even though one of them has a slight background noise the other one doesn't have, I bought them in England though, so I'm not too keen on sending it back)

They've got very good stereo image, are very direct (the sound is huge if you sit in the "beam", but normal if you're outside) and made me discover all sorts of new sounds in tracks I've known for ages :)

i use expensive fostex monitors  ( NF-1), and they kick ass, so Fostex is good at monitors, i haven't heard the budget line yet, but i'd think they would be good for their price...
