Distreality & Gin Moore - Awakening in obsoletion

Description

FINAL VERSION : Vocs by Gin Moore...
Text by Distreality

The way things are,
The way things were,
Present, past or future,
It doesn't make any difference...

The weight of our existence,
The content of our words,
The influence of our presence,
Our voices that go unheard...

Dissapearing in the invisible masses,
Losing our own identity,
Following mindless regulations,
Losing ourselves in uniformity...

Awakening in obsoletion - No identity
Awakening in obsoletion - Just uniformity
Awakening in obsoletion - No originality
Awakening in obsoletion - Crushed by conformity

We are obsolete...

i' prefere generaly you works with Miss moore! there is more in two heads then only one, hehe

Erophin [be] - 17 years ago

I like the idea of this song. Just not very found of the snare used. To be genuin electro it should be a bit more danceable, and have short 1/4 melo's or bassline...and have a dry hamering snare... u have a 8 beats melody, check most electro songs have 1/4 melos quite repetive and have a more dancable feel.
Ask Rantferox for his impression ..thats the man who def. knows what's electro.

Thx for comment !!!

TheThreatOfDawn [be] - 17 years ago

I like this track very much, and am looking forward to hearing some vocals on it. The only thing that "bothers" me is the "cleanness" of the organ that begins at about 1min50. It just sounds to on-top of the other things. After the "like the weapons"-sample, theres some kind of string added, which makes the organ stand out less, which is much better imho! So the only thing I'd chance is the volume of the organ in the first part (1m50 till break) or i'd maybe add some echoes or some light distortion, to make it blend in more.

I'll check this track out for sure once there's vocals on it!

Menaz [be] - 17 years ago

Feels more like ebm to me, wich I like btw! top track..again.

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

thx people

Funky [be] - 17 years ago

Really nice! Bout the snare...allready said...Rest of the track 'breaths' a cool authentic ( bit old school) atmosphere... The snare will give it the little bit more punch it needs imho...Great vocals/voice/lyrics! Grtz

aphone [be] - 17 years ago

sounds very very good, great music for great vocalz !! nice progression, got nothin to say, for me its perfect as it is, i gonna spend a fav here :))

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

owen [be] - 17 years ago

i agree that you need to change that snare , it will change the track a lot i think!
i like all the rest !
keep it up!
greets!

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

thx

Erophin [be] - 17 years ago

i start commenting as i listen... nice intro sentence...ur basline( moog like ) needs more punch ..maybe a bit distreality? ...and..u seem not to have ritten the first sentence of the text ... ...alone holds the power to ..vision .. not quite understandable... at 1.13 ur moog sound resambles violins ..i can not quite say weither u added violins or just changed the moog parameters... ah oki u did use violin or contra bass i hear ...maybe change the octave somewhere would make it less heavy... text is really guud by the way ... a bit fatalistic , but yea..much dark things have to be enlighted... oki i heared every thing now ... i am deffinitly missing an octave change in the main bassline .. thumbs up anyway ..

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

indeed, the first voc is a sample...
thx for comment...
it is a string i add...
the bass is a modulated jv-880...

thx ero...

dtr [be] - 17 years ago

yep, very good! this is the best one of you i heard so far. vocals, synths, strings and beats come together very well. congrats!

JabbaAndFollox [be] - 17 years ago

nice one, nice composition..like the flow of the track.

Funky [be] - 17 years ago

Hm..push'n that 'close window now' link before the page has refreshed made made my comment not appear...Here I go again... :)
About the snair, it has been said, and I think it will give the track that little more punch that it needs... The vocals/lyrics are really good...She has a nice voice...The track 'breaths' an authentic ( bit old school) atmosphere... I dig the story... Grtz!

bandarlog [be] - 17 years ago

Not my style but good production! maybe the snares a bit snappier but that's it! nice job on the integration of the voice, don't think that's easy.

melodikpinpon [be] - 17 years ago

what that wants to say for you EBM?
me I think that term is used to qualify a music cold, square, energetic, minimalist and powerful. a electronic music,
outgoing of machines and géneralement intended to be to dance often
very dark and physics before all(d' where the body term). it is a music which contains body, so much by the physical energy of its rhythms than by the energie of the voices. ex: Face 242, The neon judgement,
Daf, Nitzer ebb,...
if not,ta song is well but I am when same disappointed a little
because I wanted to listen of ElectroBodyMusic... There are terms
which are vast, ex: techno, electropop, contemporary, experimental...
much of things can carry this term. but I believe the EBM, it is
EBM... as much as the music gnawa, it is music gnawa.

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

I understand what u say...
I am a great fan, and have been for more than 14 years, of front, nitzer ebb, daf and bands like that....

Now, I must say if u listen to tracks of those bands, specially front and nitzer, you'll notice that not all of them are cold or dancefloor or meant to result in physical experience of the track...
As all styles and terms ebm is about a state of mind imo...
Music that uses elements of other styles and has a bit of a non-conformist punky attitude or elements...
In this on I guess that element is the text and the coldness of the vocals..
But feel free to tell me what u think is a more suitable genre, and I'll consider it...

thx anyway for liking it melodik

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

thx naboo
thx bandarlog

brandtkalk [be] - 17 years ago

you know my problems to classify my own track, it's the sam for yours, if it's not EBM , it's dark electro, remember me anne clark!
the snares are a little bit too in background!

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

thx brandtkalk

ZARk [be] - 17 years ago

very nice.

personnally i'd add some long delays on the tails of the voice

apart from that it's not EBM, but like brandkalk said, it's closer to dark-electro or even industrial

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

what is the indus edge u hear here zark?
so what section to put it in?
there's no dark-electro section yet, maybe make it...
I don't think it fits the main electro section...

thanks for the positive comment zark, glad u like it...

melodikpinpon [be] - 17 years ago

I agree with you whom you are free to employ the term that you finds
most suitable. but it is true that F242, Daf and nitzer made songs
which are not EBM. which are new-wave, dark wave, electro-indus or punk. it is true that it is not easy to find the therme most suitable to qualify a music on electrobel. me, I have a lot of songs
that I would like post but which is not qualifiable. it is a pity. we would owe create us under kinds. ex: unqualifiable electronic music.

melodikpinpon [be] - 17 years ago

but i like realy this track :) i relisten just for pleasur :D . its realy, the snare its just little bit in background. need a little amplification. but its a great NEW WAVE song. me to remind me Ann Clarck. i vote +

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

cheerz melodik !!!

rule001 [be] - 17 years ago

really nice!!
i must agrea with zark about some delays on the vocals.

(...and i would like the last kwartje ofzo propvol pumping percussion, but that would change the style ofcourse.. hmmm...ok..idonno ;) , just a matter of taste i guess..)

+fav

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

ceerz rule !!!

Swan [be] - 17 years ago

not really "dark" electro and not industrial at all imo, too soft for that. more new-wave-ish than ebm. if i had to choose i'd rather include it in ebm (since there's no new-wave section) than any other style, because of the voices, some sounds and the rythmic parts.

the snare sounds a bit too gentle imo, i would try with different sounds or settings and even some distortion, to see what effect it gives to the track, could be a nice contrast. it will make it sound a lot more agressive and darker but it might be worth a try ...

oh well....

nice track man!

Manta [be] - 17 years ago

Rabauw [be] - 17 years ago

Ja man, jezus christus en alle heiligen van de 39ste hemel, really love how the vocals come off in this one, it’s sooooooo 80s dark wave which happens to be all to my taste, yes yes. Especially around 2:30 there’s this extremely cool short spoken part, damn that went straight through my bones, it’s pronounced in such an affective and cold way. I mean, that’s really the kind of vocal arrangement I like a lot myself, and that combined with the contents of the song makes me relate to it a lot, it’s a theme I tend to write about myself (well, more or less, not 100% the same of course).

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

thx a lot rabauw...this comment makes me feel wonderfull...
This track was very much what i wanted to do with it, so it's very cool for me to read how much u like it..
cheerz bro

yenneman [be] - 17 years ago

Production sound is really, really great...the voice fits perfectly, and your lyrics are cool too. For me personally, it's a bit too clean (f.e. the bell and organ sounds...) but I do loooove your kick and the slowly attacking strings. Actually my opinion could be compared to Swan's.

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

thx yenneman!!!

rf061992 [be] - 17 years ago

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

TheThreatOfDawn [be] - 17 years ago

OK, I kind of expected something more from the vocals to be frank... Sorry, this probably isn't what you want to hear, but here goes anywayz: I think the vocals are a bit TO cold and monotone! Ok, it matches the words of the text and the mood of the music to do them non-emotional, but to me they kinda get boring halfway the song. (sorry, don't hit me!) The musical build-up gets pushed a little to much to the background by the loud voices. I think I would have put them less loud and gave the some more distortion or something near the end. (or make them sing more in an aggressive way, or even shout)
I don't know if it would do the trick, but they need something to keep the attention of the listener.

In all it still IS a great compo and a cool buildup. It sets a dark, cold mood, but with the vocals being not variated enough, it won't be a song about which i'm going to say "lets hear that great song again!"

reaman [be] - 17 years ago

tiens, i did miss this one...

massive sound... rythm suits very well for me, melody is nice but would've bord me a little without the vocals...
clear voice, too bad she doesn't really sing... can she? (maybe i should check the other songs as well)

Distreality [be] - 17 years ago

cheerz, maybe u should reaman...
thx for comments

Duskin [be] - 17 years ago

I do like stuff like this, Wumbscut rules(!) and you're not doing a bad job at all... but I agree that it should sound much more dirty-ish and the song should have a clearer dynamic and progression... it seems to get a bit lost in itself.

LittleOnion [uk] - 17 years ago

i liked it - i hear what some are saying about it perhaps benefiting from some 'progression' and the use of some delsy perhaps or added dirtyness in the sound.. perhaps the music is a little too warm in places... but a thumbs up!

;-)
