reaman - continental drift

Description

a claustrophobic intro-tune for a movie bout a pending cataclysmic catastrophy....
sounds a little industrial as well

take your time cuz the diver does as well - sonar sounds as they should sound (found at sounddogs.com)

other sounds and efx are twisted and tortured free-vst-presets, most of them pre-recorded live and then impemented.

i think the collest part starts around 4'27" - so if you're eager to catch that train but still want to listen.... skip till there!

feel free to comment

it's been a while since i posted some soundtrack track but feel like coming home.

deep cinematic ambience, could use a bit more bleeps and blops imho...

still very cool, reminded me of 'jaws' :p

Well pure musically this is excellent work reaman, really. I mean, damn, what a dense atmosphere. Musically I really can’t fault it, just an excellent trip into the darkness. Downloaded this track to my harddisc (don’t have the time anymore for streaming these days) and goddammit this has been a total delight so far.
But… (yes you know me, always a ‘but’ :p), I have some conceptual reservations. If this is a continental drift, then the sound picture is too mechanical. I mean, when I’d read the title I kinda guessed what I could expect but in fact the track only lives up partially to my conceptual reservations. Let me make clear first that it’s quite an original theme you’re working on, but continental drift is a natural process, so I was expecting more natural sounds, the whole of it sounds too mechanical/artificial at certain points, which is in fact contradictory to the story.
But let’s not get all too picky here, you know me, always trying to judge the whole of it. Pure musically, this would sure be in the top-3 of best Reaman-songs.

Well, i saw it that way....
it's an introductory scene on the movie... divers go to the bottom of the sea and are surprised to see a gigantic rupture in the sea bottoms soil.
The technical sounds are more type (boat of the divers - divers diving - submarine having a look at the extent of the problem - etc)

It's like with the movie Armaggedon... it's doesn't start with the hitting-the-earth as well... at first the meteorite ihas to be discovered... calculations have to be made etc...

so that's why i still find it suitable as intro on a movie with that title...

glad you like the music
