Electrobel

Description

It took me quite a while to finish this one. You hear samles from Maria church songs and Maggie Gyllenhaal as she moans and gasps in the movie 'Secretary'.

Scarlett.
When I was looking for a title, I started paging in 'Ghost World' by Daniel Clowes. The backcover said that it was now (in 2001) a motion picture with Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson.

Yellow.
I used Adobe Photoshop to create the image that goes with the song. The original image shows a girl in a yellow dress sitting backwards on a chair. I cropped the image to create a feeling of emptyness and used the filter 'Dark Strokes' which increases the contrast, gives the image a more ochre colortemperature and makes the girl look like she was (more or less) oilpainted.

Mystery.
Well I hope the track has a bit of mystery in it. I started composing the track after my second vision of 'Secretary'. The original music of that film is by Angelo Badalamenti who did - as usual - a great job. I hope this track has some of the playfullness and darkness as it is shown in the movie. The combination of these two elements creates the mystery, I think.
