alkaloid - CrossOver

Description

Postrock/dubstep/breaks.

This track contains several bridges between very divers musicstyles, going from postrock to ambient to dubstep and glitchy idm/breakbeats and is a preview of my new liveset.
All instrumental (guitar and bass) parts are played by myself, on stage talented guitarist Thomas vd Reydt will enforce the guitar wall of sound.
All the ambient parts contain fieldrecording recorded also by me.

No boundaries, no limitations, just open visions.

all comments more than welcome!

The beginning sounds a bit like Younger Brother
Great mix of styles !!!
Very nice production, you are a master. And the guitarist is exellent...

Thanks again, I'll check out Younger Brother 'cause I'm not familiar with it. Unfortunately I haven't recorded the extra guitar player yet.. we did, until now, only one live show together..

Listen to "Happy Pills" from Younger Brother, a delicious track ^^
Actually it's just Shpongle with another nickname...

neado, very cool!.
nice mixdown when all the guitars play at once , though the acoustic drums sounds... dunno, maybe to wide or something, I don't like the reverb on the snare. The dubstep bass could have some more impact imo, more bass or sub but very cool idm glitches in that part and the last breaky part kicks ass.
thumb up

yeah the acoustic drums lost a bit of their natural staging during the master I think, especially in the cymbals.. to give the acoustic drums a bit more of a live feeling I added a little reverb on the snare.
anyway thanks for the advice!

why do people who give a thumb up most of the time say why and people who give a thumb down never? that sounds to me some one is a jealous or just immature ...

Of course! with some variation maybe, I mostly split this track in 3 to mix it in at different spots during the liveset.. and yeah there are allready some adjustments production wise, this track landed here a year ago.. the complete demo can alse be listened and played from here => http://soundcloud.com/alkaloid/sets/alkaloid-demo/
