Rabauw - Blood Tickles The Senses (cyberrock)

Description

I tried to look inside the mind of people who do self-mutilation as a way to alleviate their misery....

It's got quite a catchy chorus I think.

UPDATE 1 NOVEMBER 2006: Remastered version with a warmer mix.

-----------------------------------

As you remember the black void in you
Sucked into a helix of despair
And massive ruin

(chorus) What about your psyche?
Some things will never change
Even if you try the scars will stay
Pour salt in your wounds
It burns to the bone
Cutting the flesh ‘cos you feel so alone

Fearing tomorrow
Feeling so hollow
A switchblade for your relief
Fight pain with pain

Darkness crawls upon you
And you don’t know what to do
Feel so useless from head to toe
(chorus)

How to alleviate the pain?
How to get rid of all this strain?

As you remember the black void in you
Sucked into a helix of despair
And massive ruin
Darkness crawls upon you
And you don’t know what to do
Feel so useless from head to toe
Painful as it may seem
To you it’s a means to redeem
The blood tickles your senses

(chorus)

Yes! One would say a little "SIGMUN UND ZEN FREUD" in the Eighties. A
little also "GROTUS" beginning the Nineties. For my taste, just a
little more fishing. Very good. ;)

Oh my god these lyrics are a masterpiece.

The only words that don't have their place is
"from head to toe" in the end of the chorus, its an easy rhyme, and i think is an expression that does not really have a place in this song especially :p

Otherwise yeah the music is fine, you are getting better in a sence that things are less repetitive compared to the first track you were making so it's more enjoyable to listen to !

For me it's work really well, maybe just a little detail : you can put a more powerfull overdrive on the "guitar" sound, actually it's a little bit too "plastified" (if you see what i mean)
    Great job anyway ;p

Ps : sorry for bad english ;p

Rabauw [be] - 11 years ago

    Thanks for the comments, pals!

@MucH: yeah other people have pointed out before too that the guitar maybe is a bit plastic. I'm trying to work on it, even though I'm quite satisfied with the way it is now. But it's a matter of taste of course :)

@Bedlam: thanks for your lyrical praise! :) As for "less repetitive": I've combined 4/4 with 5/4 in this song, mainly on the parts with many toms...nice and scattered, I guess it would keep things interesting. At least that's my personal vision of the song.

Yeah, the guitar like that make an electro-heavy-metal way in the song lol

But again nice work b/c i think this is very hard to make music like that with software, especially realistic like this one

edit : You're voice rocks really well for this one ;p

Ah, a new one in the cyberrock series...
Very nice drums! I've also noticed that your voice is improving, could that be? Good fx on the voice too. The sound that goes solo @ 4'34" gives me the creeps...in a good way. Quality, as always.

Rabauw [be] - 11 years ago

Voice improved? Hmmm... if you say so :) Well I'm a big boy I've got an adult voice now :)
No, seriously, thanks. I try to pay attention to the vocals, but I still remain very mediocre a vocalist. Fortunately there's this thing called an RV7000 to make it sound a bit better :)

Yeah I'm very satisfied myself with the drums, I've been wanting to do something with triple kick loops for a long time, finally managed to pull a song out of it.

The drums need some punch (you might need a good monitor to know what i'm talking about). Most other instruments sound a bit vague too. Good work overall

kaoz [be] - 11 years ago

great, man, u know i've never been into metal but u're about to change that! i really like u use reason as a "band", just like i do sometimez: it's more than just a techno-device... repect, man
about the guitar: maybe double it in a lower or higher octave with some fuzz on it? just a thought hé

Bedlam [be] - 11 years ago

This is prolly one of your best :)

kabal [be] - 11 years ago

    S-cape [be] - 10 years ago

    I loooove it ^^
Really, you are a great singer, nothing to say about your voice !!
But for the music, maybe you can put a little bit more reverb on the guitars...? Great track, i vote yes :p

    S-cape [be] - 10 years ago

    fabulous ! i love it ! ^^

Funky [be] - 10 years ago

Amazing how this is possible without actually jamming actual heavy disto guitars :) Pogo music :P Reminds me of my longer hair days ;) I liked this kinda music back then & can still apreciate it nowadays... Good work! ( Kickdrum could use a little more punch indeed...) Grtz man!

Phye [be] - 10 years ago

this is some serious good metal
even though it sounds electrik, metal fans wouldnt mind listening to it i think
nice compo, great job on the guitar, programmed or sampled??
the grunt could be better imo though the lyrics are pretty cool

Rabauw [be] - 10 years ago

    guitars are programmed, phye.

firefrog [be] - 10 years ago

    rammmsteinnn :D
it's totally not my genre, but it sounds really good!!!

Bedlam [be] - 10 years ago

It's really sad that drums are fake and guitars too... well of course its cyber... because the song is great, but i cant help imagining it with pouding guitars and vibrant drums !
but seriously, i would like to get one of your reason files so i can transform them into a real metal song (real drums and real guitars :p )

It could be interesting, if you're interested :p

brandtkalk [be] - 10 years ago

nice rock compos, the kick may be more fat! some time it sound like a snare! but nice compo and nice voice!

transynth [be] - 10 years ago

Nice! The day you'll find a real guitar player you should ask to play it in real and record it,so for all your other rock tracks, together you could make at least enough tracks to make a metal album ;)

Rabauw [be] - 10 years ago

    Thanks!
One day I'll storm the charts haha :)
