Forum : Producing Help : Looking for reason acid patch
hi ebellians
i've been searching for a patch in reason to compose a decent acidline. i very much suck in soundsculpting, all my attempts to create one end in tears and frustration. so when all hope is lost i turn to ebel ^^
any of you got a decent acidpatch for one of the synths in reason? and would you like to share it with me?
thanks, and cheers ;)

You can use the TB patch of the subtractor and make a melody that changes every 16th of bar ;)
or else, I've got some synths I've made on thor (with the included mini-sequencer) .

As every tune first look for a basic melody (a simple one, variation shall be the acidization).
Then to "acidize" a note, slice it to a 16th of bar and always put the root note as a first slice.
Put as much as "root notes" as it needs in your sequence; we might wanna hear the note you're playin.
Then put some "not-so-random" note in your sequence. I mean that some choices are better than other and that's why you should make your own mind while the loop you're working on is playing."Good choices" are often the same note directly played an octave higher then an octave lower then replay the note but considerin some other random notes too ! ;)
EDIT :
Thanks for the link !
Really interesting will take a look, totally different from how I work.

Nice try, I would see sicker acidlines ... push the tempo or slice them smaller (are you in 1/16 ?)

nope, 1/8th, but bpm is 200-ish, 16th notes is just to quick at that speed, at least if you use the matrix, wich i did. prolly will start using the sequencer instead, so i can variate between 8th and 16th notes

guys,
why don't you use the Rebirth V2 ; it's the real thing
with the Rebirth input on the Reason Rack you R ready 2 freak out!
the TB303 (clone) in Rebirth makes it so easy to pattern for real acied traks...

rebirth, its free, nice sound, the best tb software clone imo!
you can rewire it, so really easy to use in reason.

acid lines are usualy 16ths with occasional slide notes of one octave where the first note of the slide has more velocity (then you get the typical "taw" sound)
