question.. Can you use a 2000watt generator with a laptop and amplifier ...
How do I connect.. Should I use other devices between them, ...
cant't find anything on the internet. and I don't know anything about electricity...

but mostely big-ass generators I think...

But hey,Im shure some dudes here have a soundtechnician degree, and could help you further

you just connect everything like you would do at home.

that's the way we do it on our local 'carnavalstoet' ;)

i wonder what would be different for audio-solutions. all machines just need electricity, no matter from were it comes. the only thing i'd do is a stabilisator, to make shure your equipment doesn't get any electricity-spikes. but it could well be that such things are integrated in the generator. as for ground-loop problems ("buzzzzz"): i'd lift the ground of your amp

its that simple??
excuse me for being technoob, but can u just plug a "multi Pin tip jack connector" (google for dominostekker) into a generator?

... why? now we get the humming noiz for free. otherwise, most of us spend hours on it trying to create ^^
saves a lot of time imho. :))

generated electricity is in sé no different than the electricity that come to your home. domino's won't be any problem
.• just make shure that you respect the power-limit (in your case 2000W)

sorry guys but it s not that plain simple. one of the things i picked up from friends of mine running illegal tekno soundsystems here in rotterdam is for example that the generator should deliver twice as much as your equipment would take under normal use. has got to do with how a generator works, amp peaks, etc. these are things you dont know about without getting informed well about the technicalities. and obviously getting clean/stable power is really important, especially with laptops...

btw, this thing will only blow its fuse when a peak happens and leave you with no power. what you want is something that 'cleans' the power of the generator constantly (or a generator with a clean output).

yep...you must use a fuse ("disjoncteur") box, with 16A fuse for each circuit you need : one for example one for laptop, keybord,... and all instrument ; one for amplificator ; one for lights; ....and mabie also use a "disjoncteur differentiel" to avoid shortcut circuit problem, but I never use genrator so i dont dont know about the ground connection....I gonna search some thing about it, ground is also importand to avoid electric shock

16A fuse cuz in domestic electrical is the normlized rules, 2,5² mm for
wire section

...also can calculate the amper you need for all circuit with this simple equation : P=U/I P=power=amper U=tension=volt I=intensity=amper

.....to give you a more precise help, give me more data about yr generator; mono phase; tri-phase, 220V???? mabye if you give me the amp. you need for each circuit,i give give a list of the material you need and even priece of it...

remind also that if you buy it in an "american army stock" generator it work in 50Hz!!!! here in europe we work with 60Hz....some material are compatible ...but not all...

note: i hope you understand my bad english
