Anybody saw the exhibition at Bozar?
There are pieces of Alan Vega (Member of Suicide), Antony, Bent van Looy (Das Pop), Bianca Casady
(Cocorosie), Brian Eno, Chicks on Speed, David Byrne, Devendra Banhart,
Fischerspooner, Jonsi Birgisson (Riceboy Sleeps), Kembra Pfahler, Kyle
Field, Laurie Anderson, Miss Kittin, Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeah's),
Patti Smith, Pete Doherty, The Kills, The Residents and Yoko Ono.
I was a little bit disappointed by the exhibition... of course i appreciated some works but no "love at first sight".
Yoko's installation was beautiful.

totally agree, lots of noise about this exposition but nothing to see except fisherspooner and one or two other things ... Most of these pieces are "art masturbation" for me, nothing else ...

I'm going to the closing party, but only coz I got an invite.

Seemed to be one hell of a 'look who we were able to use their name' without any focus on what the pieces of work were.

I read in an interview of one of the artists when she was touring (Pukkelpop or Werchter) that she didn't even see her own artwork, so she was definitely going to visit Brussels to check it out. Goes to show how far they went just to have some artist names on some pieces of art.

Still, it's better than most of what bozar offers. And the 'lots of noise' is just because they received a lot of money to spend for promotional self-masturbation. It's the same thing as with Klara festival atm, they even bought the speakers of MIVB/STIB, every morning we get their amateur little spot blasted into our ears...

I would carefully consider going to that party, even if its free.
I went to a party in BOZAR once (State of Bengal and Talvin Singh) and I have never seen such a large group of stuck up assholes in one room since.
Those bastards spilled my beer without even saying sorry, they tried to jump the cue because they obviously think the sun shines out of their asses and everyone just has to let them through and even spilled my sisters wine all over her white blouse, again not appologising, let alone paying for a new drink
On top of that, State of Bengal only arrived at 3:30 so there were only 30 people left when they finally started.
But hey, who knows we were just really really unlucky then, and nice parties do happen there. I doubt it though.
Please let us know if it was as bad as I expect it will be, because I'll be damned if I ever go there again to find out...

No, that's the regular Bozar crew. Was the same with their so called balkan event a couple months back.

I haven't been able to check the exhibition tho, and since there's a lounge upstairs for guests, at least you can try to avoid that kind of people.

Well, my point is: i use to like what you call "art masturbation" but i expected something better from people like Eno, Casady, Banhart or Smith. Even if i saw good stuff from Byrne, Ono, Doherty and Riceboy Sleeps. Seriously, were there nothing you liked?
The good point was the price: 1 euro if you're less than 26!
The more uninteresting piece, imo, was Miss Kittin. The more trivial: the Kills. The more ridiculous: Kembra Pfahler.

about trees: i'm a poor romantic shy little boy...
seriously, i found the installation beautifuf, peaceful and poetic. not the piece of the century, for sure. i do like graveyards and it reminds me such nice places.
