Forum : Socialize : need some custom music for free
At this moment i'm finishing a documentary that will be released next week. I made a raw montage and i'm looking for music that fits the docu. I can't tell what the docu is about, since the topic of teh docu will be released next week, and the other people of the 'redactie' want me to keep it as a secret. If someone is seriously interested to make some music for it on a short term (2 days), i can send a raw montage. I can promise this docu will be seen by a lot of people, since the medium i'm currently working for (de wereld morgen) will make a lot of buzz about it. The topic of the video is also highly controversial, this video has potential to get into the regular media as well.
If i would have had some time i'd make my own tunes for this video, but i don't have any time left.
I need some ambient music with a slow but strong rythm, that sounds dark and doomy for the beginning of the docu, it should create some tension. I think 1 dark note, some strings on top of it and a well defined but slow rythm would fit here.
After the intro there are short peaces of video to be filled up. They are the 'resting points' between specialists and other people who are talking. The short sound bits on top of these short pieces should be pleasant, not too disturbing and might use some of the sounds of the various machines that are in these pieces of video. I can't tell about the topic of the video, but i can tell these short images are all about machines used in a port. For example: a boat being unloaded by a large crane, a 'goederentrein' that rolls over the tracks, a large 'stacker' (these huge rolling cranes that move containers around), etc.. Many of these machines make specific sounds, it would be cool if these sounds are also used in the background music.
Since i'm not getting any money for this video (i'm doing my 'stage') i can't pay anyone for the music. What i will do however, is put your name in the credits, in BIG letters ;)
So, if anyone is interested in making this music, has the time to do it quick, and preferably understands dutch (so the music can match up with the message and the general feeling of every scene). Please send me a PM. You would make my day.

Not easy. i've made couple of videos with songs from ebel, usually i create a random playlist with the styles i think fit (usually the idm, electronica, ambient sections), and just listen thru that for things i like. Usually i play the video on the other screen, helps me see if the music fits the style. Then put pieces on the video, and sometimes move some transitions slightly to fit the evolution in the music.
