Started smoking "seriously" last year... and got used to it quite fast. At first I was a spliff-only smoker, but i happened to like smoking more than i thought (playing with the smoke, the feeling of the smoke... and sometimes the taste - pipe is really cool for that), so i started smoking rolled belgam + rizla...
But i prefer smoking weed to tobacco, that way I smoke less (half a joint is enough for me to be just high the way i want), appreciate it more and give a bit of freedom to my mind...
And now when i think about it, I sometimes really need to smoke to take a break and think about a few things... don't know if it's just psychological or something, but my mind runs more efficiently, fluently when I smoke..

for the bonus points, when i was desperate... i did open up my used cigs to roll new ones out of it. but that's only out of bare desperation! ( times when i wasn't so proud to be a smoker ).
i agree with smoking being not good lol, but that's no reason to rip on people who do smoke as can be noticed in public places!

started smoking around the age of 13, because i found a full pack of cigarettes in a struikske, and then thought: why the fuck not?

Smoking relaxes me and I can go to the toilet better :p Agree that smoking is unhealthy, but I live next to a freeway (E313), so just breathing in my street is unhealthy too. And it's my damn right to do with my body whatever I want: screwing up my lungs smoking too much, screwing up my liver drinking too much, screwing up my stomach eating too much crap, ... At least I do what I want, and not what society wants me to...

I actually knew what it stands for. But the 'american'-part in it is a reference to the origin of the tobacco they use, being American (Virginia-tobacco, now cultivated in South-America)
cheapo-tobacco is bad for the economy, 'cause it comes from third world countries (cf. Asia & Africa), where people are exploited to work on the tobacco-farms for very little money.
As for Pall Mall, they're produced by R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (source: Wikipedia), so that's definitly an American company 8|

I actually enjoy seeing smokers having trouble with their 'habit', although I pity them for their habit and want to help them in a way...
They go and stand in the rain and cold outside the restaurant while I can stay at my table, enjoying the conversation and the coziness.
My smoking colleagues at work get nervous come noon, they wolf down their lunch and then rush out to have a quick puff, while I can enjoy my meal in a calm way while checking my emails on the pc.
I can go shopping with the wife and kid, unhampered by that smelly stick of tobacco and paper. I don't have to be grumpy because I could only do two puffs in between one shop and another, and then throw half a cigarette away.
Etc etc... no, best thing I did in years, apart from my baby daughter and the making of my first For Greater Good full-cd :)

standing in the outdoors, no prob... but otherwise, it just smells bad!
