<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; white-space: pre-wrap; color: #000000;">The museum of Fine Arts in Ghent organises a project that wants to combine art and electronic music.
This will take place in the museum in September. The museum is looking for motivated producers to participate in this project.
Producers will be challenged to translate the works of the current exhibition ( Artist in Residence Stijn Cole) into electronic music.
In order to make this possible and open to every music lover you can follow an Ableton workshop ( 2 x 4h) the first weekend (11-12 sept) to get to know the basic features of the programm. You don't have to be an experienced producer. All this costs only 25 euro. On top of that you will get assistance in making your track the second weekend.
The second weekend (25-26 sept) all producers ( also experienced producers) are invited to the museum to make tracks (individual or in group) with sounds they record at the museum or just out of inspiration by seeing the art work. This part is of course free of charge.
It's an exceptional chance to produce in the unique setting of the museum and outside your studio walls. It's also a chance to meet others producers, learn from eachother and maybe make some music together.
The visitors can listen to the results afterwards and there will be a special night at the museum where producers can bring their live sets.
All info you can find on http://www.facebook.com/pages/GENT/SOUNDSET-MSK/135931849771157?ref=ts
Spread the word!!
Already working on the project are Whizz ( of Whizz and Daze), Simon Hold, San Soda, Alien Robot Dance, Diorama and Roebin De Freitas.

I smell rip-off. When I read this I thought it was a great initiative untill I saw you have to pay to make music for the museum. kweenie ze... I untherstand you would have to pay a minor fee to folow the workshop (but that should be optional). But 25 euro just so you can be part of an artistic/creative process. I thought your own creativity was suposed to be free, but looks like you have to pay these days...

@CruizeOfFiction: The 25 euro's was for the ableton-workshop during the first weekend, the second weekend was free... and very interessting if i may add :)
it was a lot off fun to get to know a couple of producers and share ideas etc for an entire weekend. I had the feeling I learned a lot and met a bunch of friendly, interessting people.
