Does anybody know the difference between the Asio, MME and DX drivers, beside the fact that the latency can be set higher for the MME and DX drivers. I know that the asio drivers are used to get the lowest latency so that the time between playing on a midi apparatus and hearing what you have played is the smallest, but I have no midi apparatus. Therefore I wondered if I couldn't use the MME or DX drivers (so i can set the latency a little bit higher and get less audio clipping).
Thanks in advance

with my previous computer i used DX driver, and of course it has high latency (>400ms) but i didn't care because i had no midi/synth/external controller to synchronize.

now i have an ASIO compatible soundcard and a midi keyboard. latency has to be very low (<10ms) to be playable.

MME i don't know but i think it sucks big time.
