Forum : Producing Help : error reading flp file
I was making a new song, And I really loved the song, when I wanted to close fruity loops to do some other stuff my pc crashes. Now when I want to open the file, I can't oopen it and get an errormessage. I'm afraid this file is lost. Or are there any ways to fix this. I want that song back, I really liked it and allready putted a lot of time in it.

your fucked. sorry to put it that way
it some kindof error due to vsts or automations on fx..
already had the same problem a couple of times, i tried everything; uninstalling thevsts etc.. but nothing works
best thing you do is make a zippedloop package oncce you have something good going
and then every time you change something drastic, save it as new version
i sometimes end up with _20 copies of the same track

Too bad,
I indeed am fucked then, damn and I really liked the track. This is hard. Thanx for your help. Should save it under 2 names or something like that in the future. Wasn't doing anything btw, just added some open hi-hats with drumsynth. But I think it's because of my pc crashing while closig fruity loops. The crash came because of my cpu overheated, I have some dust between my processor's cooler. Have to remove it again but first have to go for some coolpaste, Don't want to use toothpaste again. It works only for a few days and then you still have to change it by coolpaste.

Steve Laboy's Fix:
1) Load up your corrupt FLP file into fruity loops
The corruption error will show, fruity loops will be crippled,
and your song doesnt show up. First time i saw this i s*** a brick.
2) Click the "FILE" menu (up in the left hand corner) then goto
"EXPORT" and on the submenu for "Export" that appears, click "Zipped
loop package..."
3) Save this package to your FL Studio Projects folder (it should point
you there automatically). Save it anywhere if you want, this will just
make it easier.
4) Browse to the folder where you put this zip file, and extract the contents into a folder there.
YOUR WORKING PROJECT IS IN THERE!

There's an flp recover utility on the FL forum (I think in the technical support section)
It'll load your project and show a list with like 500 times "FL vst wrapper". Click deselect all and save your project with a different name.
Open this new project. Normally it should load, but you won't have any plugins now. If this works, it means one or two of your plugin entries are currupted. You can now go back and enable them one at a time just until the project locks up again. The last FL vst wrapper you've enabled is the corrupted one. Select all the others, disable that one, and you'll have your project, minus one vst (but you should be able to put it back in manually)
I know it's a shitload of work, it'll take an hour or two, but you'll get your project back.
If the project doesn't even load with all plugins disabled, you're totally fucked and there's nothing you can do, unfortunately.
