I think that everything is said in the title. This band kicks ass, and i really don't know which kind of synths, sequencer and vst (for the fat 8bitish distortion) they use. As they have no website, i ignore almost everything about them.

If you don't know them look here :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRHsIAj9QaA

By the way they play live at "les nuits du botanique" in Brussels the 16th of may.

you can make all kinds of music with every sequencer
you can make all kinds of synths with any multiple oscilator vsti

->impossible to say: that sound was made with that vsti & that sequencer

as for the bit reduction:
its a bit crusher effect (its standard in ableton, but there will probably be some vst's of it as well)

very incomplete list of what is able to bitcrush:
- dblue glitch (efx6)
- effectrix
- Camel phat
- Automate (the vst)
- FM8 efx
- fruity squeeze (only in fl)
- ableton live (as mentioned)

i saw them once live and i think they brought a whole bunch of instruments
and synthesisers..

hmm  i don't think you can make ANY sound with ANY vst
still got a lot to learn for sounddesigning and stuff but there is difference in them synths
otherwise there probably wouldn't be any need for having different synths too ;)

I didn't say any, I said all kinds of. just refering to the fact that It's as good as impossible to tell what sound is made with which vsti, a certain sound can be achieved by numerous brands of vsti's

aren't the basics of each vsti multioscilators
& the rest fx, that can be as well external?
(cutoff, lfo, resonance, delay, envelope, pitch, ...)
difference might be the option to draw your waveforms/more advanced waveforms oppose to just sine, saw, square,...

at least what I thought...

If you got the full option (almost) modular vst's/synths than you can make practically anything out of anything. I'dd add complete control on envelopes/lfo/fm/detune/routing to your list because these things aren't fixed easily thru external efx. But yeah, most nowadays synths/vsti are able to do most stuff from scratch. Thinking about massive/fm8/zebra2/rapture/albino3 and other monsters.

yeah but you can edit all these things external as well (exept a few)...
meaning a certain sound can as well be made with a crappy vsti as well as a pro like zebra, massive,....

thus in this topic: near impossible to say which vsti was used

yeah, and FM synthesis!!! great stuff , haven't nearly scratched the surface of the bloody synth-concept but it's way richer than analog synths like ( multi oscilators like massive, vanguard, ect).
for the kap bambino i'd deffenatly say that analogs where used, idd basic waveforms and little modulation.
an case you are using fl, try the " 3Xosc" vsti. very basic and easy to use.
hate to self spam on threads but, this cheesy song i made was made with nothing but that synth, meaning all sounds you hear where made with the 3Xosc. offcorse theres alot of efx like bitcrush used to make it sound less out of the box
www.electrobel.be/muzik/22525/Atari_noise_fuckers

also, instead of those crappy bitcrushers, try ohmforce's "ohmicide" distortion whitch has alot of different algorithms to fuck up your sounds in ways not imaginable^^
best of luck to ya!
