AfternoonPrjct - Miss Perroquet

Description

I composed this melody(in 2004), special in use with my own Roland SC-88. So only SC-88 sounds.... and a 3/4 Barroque style. Some kind of interludium ... Most of the instrument-solo's were auto-generated by software (with a little help from bibi) After all, I've even tried mastering with "iZotope3" enjoy!

nice but what is exactly generated by software ?

Hi Bedlam, the "nylon guitar" for example was completely auto-generated! Let's say; I created the basics, Tempo, 3/4, Chord-progressions, Tonality,... Then, You now that B.B.King sounds different than Django upon a guitar, because they interprete their music different in a "same song". it's because they use different scales and much more ... for a "same melody". So I did with software. I gave in the parrameters (a lot of) and the software gave me a mathematic correct solo! I was impressed, because we are talking abaut a few hundreds of notes ...
I don't wanna lie, buth I remember that I didn't had to change more than about 10 notes after auto-generating ... Have a nice day!

Izotope 3 isnt so great for masteringits good for overall channel enhancing--this music must be used in a soundtrack of a movie--otherwise its just "onopvatbaar"

refreshing !

which software does you used for the "melody generations" ?

Why not great mastering with iZotope? I do! Maybe more a question of taste (and money)?! greetz...

Hi DaTuX, I've used "Band-in-a-Box" for generating the melodyline(s).
Buth first, You have to construct a base with chords, genre, feeling, tempo, ... in other words, a style with the nescessary chords...After many times generating a melody, just cut and paste the wanted pieces of melody and the half work is done ....tjaw.

Yes, I now, that's what my brother also told me when he was listening to this song ... and it's true! I think it has to do something with the colors of the choosen instruments (bassoon, polymoog, clavecimbel, ...) and of course the 3/4 barroc waltz style ... Buth, it wasn't my intention. One more time, thanks to all the listeners, who like this sweet melody! -AfternoonPrjct-
