mist - don't let it trouble you

this is what bad weather during summer produces.. more time indoors, pushing the old pc a bit further, testing some new plug-ins.
there are simple melody-patterns and braintickling rhythms.
my first track in the idm-section, i think it's in the right place here.

kiande [be] - 15 years ago

i hear FSOL thingies.. right? ;)

mist [be] - 15 years ago

nope :)
funny you're hearing that in there..
except for the rhodes-key, none of the original samples are recognizable. oh, and the vocal is a piece of "indeep - last night a dj saved my life" (acapella) :)

eddie [be] - 15 years ago

this is a piece of art ;-) you always have such a cool vibe in your tracks... unique here on ebel I think.

thumbs up!!

amorph [be] - 15 years ago

hmhmh just a little question ...
why are u always using loops and existing samples ?
wouldn't it even be better if it was homemade ? :)

mist [be] - 15 years ago

the only existing sample here was the vocal and i don't have a mic or good soundcard to record quality.
btw.not a single loop was used in here.
other samples are single notes and clicks i cut and manipulate (so the source exists, but the sound you here doesn't). a lot of the rhythm sounds here are coming from white noise anyway. even the background "synth" is vocoded whitenoise :) and using a real synth to play melodies isn't always better than sampling a single note and playing with it (at least in my case). i guess it's just my way of doing it now.. ;)

amorph [be] - 15 years ago

k sorry ...
i wasn't talkin'about this track in particular :)
it's just i listened to a few of ur tracks (which r on my hd ;) ) yesterday
and on some i had this impression of "loop-made"
tracks are gr8 though but i was just wondering ...

mist [be] - 15 years ago

yeah you're right too. but i'm trying to evolve.. :) maybe the method (fruityloops) made the result sound loopy as well. now using lot more plugins and different patterns.

icteder [be] - 15 years ago

man that's not a bad thing=you'r music sounds great!!! and your melody's are sweet.it's not the way you make it, it's the result that matters.it's like playing guitar to me:one man can make it sound unbelieveable fresh the other one play's them uninspired kutdeunen on that same guitar with the same sound.it all depends what you do with it.

dorkbot [be] - 15 years ago

very nice track! nice mix between experiment and melody... evolves and builds quite natural.

Jokke [be] - 15 years ago

Waaauw man! This track realy tickles your brain, the melancholic mood is superb. Keep up the good work man...No further comments needed

gruesome2some [be] - 15 years ago

i have to agree here that it's the result that counts; most people don't have the faintest clue what is going on anyway, except those really listening, so i guess my point is...in either one of this categories, you'll have people who'll like it and others who won't...me, i like it! i hope u understand what we're saying, a bit heavy on the reefer tonite...respect!

PsyAviah [be] - 15 years ago

i like the intro
perfect atmosphere you've created!
but then it lasts a bit too lang for my taste, apart form that i really like your production and sounds!

HarryPoppins [be] - 14 years ago

really nice
