SylvaindeMerode - Electrorchestral

Description

My first completed produced song. I've made it with Reason and a lot a patience. It also reminds my far away roots from orchestral symphony and my turn on electronics.
All advices are welcome.

Edit : Some changes with the mastering, variations and corrections following your advices
Cheers.

Sylvain

yes verry nice...Now the next step is to find a beat that fits, but that would be a biiiig step i think.
I would go for a randomized-like IDM beat...but,you know...youll see what you do with it.

Thx to all for your feedbacks, that's reaaally boost 1) my opinion of this community 2) my need to create something else.

Skip, I've already thought about another way giving to my track such as you proposed but I've decided on my own to keep this guideline very soft and minimalist . Maybe later I'd give a second life to this tune.

Kiss & Love.

There are some things I'd change:
I dislike is the arpy sound you start with and then move to the back all along the song. It's good for the intro but then you should skip it and replace it with sumtin else... The bass sound changing into a more sawy sound later in the song fits really well - congrats - but I'd have the sawy sound some more.

The orchestral swell of drums at the end is out of sync and the violins don't get the support for this intended climax.

I hope you appreciate my constructive comment.

but as for the rest.. top neo-classical production.

Hey reaman, you just confirm my feeling bout the things to be improved;)
the arpegiator must be adapted by another sound less closed i think, hard to find but I'll focus on that. And you're perfectly right about the end out of sync. my bad :p I'd add also the oboe at the end merged with violin to finish. Thx !

"The King of the snowlands is making his ice sculptures far away from any form of life...hundreds of statues which represent his deceased Queen.

And every year his kingdom gets a little colder..."

A song that gets my imagination going. Really strong emotional piece.

great melodies, just the basseline doesn't speak me, you have talent...

transynth [be] - 16 years ago

Nice melody man, i hope you'll make more kind of experiments like this one, it sounds sweet,
>> skip, i don't think a beat is needed in this track, composition and structure is fine, now master it as it should and you sure got a nice piece of music.Keep up

Sounds very nice. I adivice you to either seperately render the tracks, or use Reason to get a more high pass filtered reverb on the individual orchestral tracks. Now, there is a lot of reverb going on in the section between 300-800 Hz, which generally makes sound muddy and overpresent. Composure is very nice. The bass / low mid synth at 1:25 sounds a bit too loud in comparision to the other instruments, maybe compress together with the electronic 5x3 step variation. When that bass ends there should be some cymbals and other rambling noises at that moment. Absolutely enjoyed this music. Well done, rate 9/10

downloaded to HD. Wouldn't put beats on it neither. Maybe experiment with changing some midi-sounds if you find better. But this is a very very great compo already. Thumb up
