Hello everyone,
Last week I watched the movie "Amélie Poulain"
I always really enjoyed the score of that movie, especially "Comptine d'un autre été: l'après midi" (which I really like playing on the piano).
Then, pure magic. I was listening to MegaZards Spastic Diplegia and it hit me that a lot of the rythm matched the song of Amélie Poulain.
One thing led to another and there I was, beatmatching snips and parts of the breakcore song, transposing it, applying all sorts of effects and trying to fit it with this classic piano song.
This song is still a work in progress, but I really could use some feedback on how to improve it.

I like the idea, as you say, the flow kind of looks alike. Though your sound could be better, the piano has to be a bit more on top of the coresounds. Maybe you could try finding this song in midi format and then importing it to your sequencer with a kind of rave-synth. And then change between the clean piano and the ravesynth. Or an acidsynth.
And also, I wouldn't use too much breakcoresounds on the quieter parts in the beginning, let the breaks just flow in easlily towards the heavier part (but that could be just my opinion).
Anyhow, nice job you've done here.

Yes you are right, mastering is still a big problem, I need to find a way to make the piano a more prominent part of the song without just upping the db's.
Also, I understand your idea of the rave/acid synth and doing so wouldn't be a problem, but I think it would take some of the charm of the original song away. Also, and I would like opinions on this, I think the voice-sample kills the entire flow, but I really like the beat that evolves from it. So what to do :D

It works, i like.
Isn't it a compressor problem? (on the piano) I hear "pompage" on it (sorry if you don't speak french). maybe the threshold should be higher, and your ratio down.

I've tried to listen your song with the elektribe but there was a problem, welcome in the elektribe world, for my part i've got an EM-1 for a long time, and she (that's a person with her own identity now) made me really happy before becoming a bit old...
