StorungStelle - Störungstep V2

Description

while i was messin with a trail-version of flp, i started making dubstep.
because i couldn't save it, i restarted in cu-base.
this is the result.
comments are welcome.
certainly about sound.

i did a remake, hope you enjoy it.
also a lot off mixing, and i hope the bass is better now.

tes ne keer wat anders é , pretty cool!! ...to give some feedback.. i think it needs more BASS !!! in the sence of ...a clear steady bassline that really comes out as the nr.1 element of the track... i think the choir and the vocals are a bit too loud in comparison...i don't really like that choir sound too much but i guess that's personal taste....
but...rythm is cool !! leuk om eens iets nieuws te hore van u!

Skip [be] - 15 years ago

aha, hier ze.
Cewl track.
the glitchy effects around 02:50 are vreet cool.
Like how you dont use one main element (sorry odett!) to go along the track,is nice to have a whole flow, one fat harmony.
Supernice for a first dubstep try-out.
Had to laugh at your title :))
(I wouldnt have put that much of these samples in it.)
That screaming synth (didgeree?) real cool, and choir with flutes, nice kerel :))
about the sound, just the lowest synth should be boosted a little, and some mid's could be lowered (pers. taste vaneiges é)
yoew

thx for understanding skip, about the beat and basslines.
and its still in construction zone, so i just did some eqing, butt not the final mixing.
an i still don't know if there is, to much melody, or if it's just enough.

Skip [be] - 15 years ago

I think it has a nice ballance, its nice to be a little more chaotic in the middle and that it camls down at the end, weetwel

Omyiga [be] - 15 years ago

I think I agree with odette, now it's a lil bit too chaotisch for me.
But very nice sounds en vet sfeertje + idd wijs om keer iets nieuws te horen van u

StorungStelle [be] - 15 years ago

i understand odetje, and somewhere omyiga and odetta have a big point.
but i never had the intension to create "the way they do it"-dupstep. so it needs to be a little chaotic enal
but thanx for the info.
and i will listen to it when i finish it

Akwalek [be] - 15 years ago

being a dubstep noob i cant tell much about how to and not to, all i can say is that i like the new storung, really, i can still hear ur love for melo ( there isnt to much imo) but the ritmik makes it a complete new kind of storung...more experimentz plz ;) keep up
o ja, idd, kzou ook ewa voice samples weg laten, just a tiny overload atm....relisten

IskaRiot [be] - 15 years ago

my kind of dubstep!
very cool sounds in there, that screaming synth esp, love it!
nice you keep a lot of variation in it, most dubstep is to monotone for me, it has to evolve, exactly what you do here

IskaRiot [be] - 15 years ago

btw; go and explore the boundaries of dubstep! allready enough "the way they do it dubstep" out there :p

particle [be] - 15 years ago

awel cool! definately a goodie!
very surprising and fresh, cool mood and nice sounds thumb+

Rag [be] - 15 years ago

nice track! i like it as it is personally, meaning it don't needs more basse, but i do agree about it being a bit choatic sometimes...
but def a good one! :)

StorungStelle [be] - 15 years ago

thank you very much, all of you

dustrickx [be] - 15 years ago

needs more very lowness (sub-sub ;-))
also a bit sharp in te high regions
i think a bit more low mids would be nice to , some more kick-feeling
I like the melodic elements , not really the vocal choir as such... a lot of the sounds are a bit too 'cold' for me.
sound slike u mastered in on small speakers or headphone =)
I like the slight guitar strikes a lot and the whistling like sound
also the fact that u overdose in samples to create psychedelic effects
should be balanced out more properly though so they all come out better, leave eachother some space...
I can almost here the storungstelle idm-progressions but than in a dubstepphrase :P so hence I still think u should try to get more away from yourself not just genre-wise but most of all with the choice of melodic progressions and chords ;-)
try to make something u would never want to make and than start from that :P

this track could deffinately get somewhere though (loose from wether it sounds too much like u or not :P)

keep up the good work

Skip [be] - 15 years ago

true, but I would say that this track is the one that stands the furthest from his usual tracks,so he is on a good way.

dustrickx [be] - 15 years ago

yeh true true
I don't necessarily mean he has to get away from the things he does, because I like the storung-sound... but u can only take yourself far enough into infinate possibilities of sound if u dare 'killing' yourself once in a while :-)
no one has to do anything and it' s more my fault since I overdosed myself with storungsound in the umr selection and masterring period =)
can't really blame an artist for sounding like himself can you :-)
but I do believe that indeed widening the scape of genres, soundcolors, progressions, ... is a positive force for every artist and every 'scene'
that's mostley why I push it, not soo much as a kwalitative feedback ;-)
I just get carried away with telescopic visions on music rather than I can realy microscopicly 'value' a single tune :-)

Skip [be] - 15 years ago

héhé
True again (my main advise to beginners is to experiment as much as possible to get your own style and sound...but indeed, once that is achieved, the next step is to break thrue that too and expand/experiment even more and get even further...is hier nog zooooveel meer over te vertellen natuurlek)
Anyways
Pushing it is the best thing you can do to have qualitative results

StorungStelle [be] - 15 years ago

thx guys

phollox [be] - 15 years ago

beats are quite cool! verry subtle fx and stuff, melo's and ambiance are nicely dramatic :) i like that, the choir sound is good as it is imo. The song only lacks some low freq's, for the rest: a nice first dubstep attempt for sure! thumb

StorungStelle [be] - 15 years ago

thx phollox, nice to hear that from you. and about the more sub, i'm working on it. butt mixing/mastering-tips are allowed.

phollox [be] - 15 years ago

wel mix is always the hard part (i'm learning everyday haha) the thing is that your melo's push away the beats & kick a bit, but thats not necesseraly a problem, as it is the ambiance of this track that keeps me going, not the beats by themself. Maybe lower some mid freq's or melody elements as skip says but it aready works for me..

Voxcoder [be] - 15 years ago

i like this track very much melodic glitchy dupstep.. this is very original the only thing that bothers me is the snare i like it in the intro but i think it must be thicker towards the end. anyways realy fat track

StorungStelle [be] - 15 years ago

thx voxcoder, and i know it about the snare, but i'm fuckin it up for the moment. so it will take a while.

deff a storung track, very idmish in lots of ways, but i don't like it as a chill-listening track, more as a dance track.
