though a bit more breakcore then darkstep to me :)

Breaks are nice and pounding, but maybe try to get some more structure in it.

Try this one: (1/8th bar)basskick (1/8) cymbal (1/8) snare (1/16) Highhat (1/16) "ghost"snare (=take half the snare but put it a lot more quiet) (1/16) Kick (pitch 1up of 1 down) (1/16) kick (don't pitch) (1/8) snare (1/16) highhat (1/16)ghostsnare (1/16) kick (pitch 1up/down) (1/16) kick

now you'll have a break of 1 bar. Afterwards compress and EQ

then: very important: layer it with an existing break/amen/... to make your original break more fluid.
Then recompress and EQ, bouce.
Afterwards you can structurise the break the way you want (ex: no ghostsnares and only "double kicks" (= 2X 1/16e kicks) etc etc etc)

so you actually only need 3 instruments: Kick - Snare - Highhat (and timestretch the Highhat with some reverb to make a cymbal)
and you need another break to layer with as well

That pounding sound, like you want to smash someone in the head with a stone, that was what we wanted. But thanks anyway, we all know you are the Belgian darkstepmaster! :D
