reaman - His face

Description

This is my first finished singer-songwriter song - recorded in a semi-pro way.

It is in "folk" because we don't have a "song" or "acoustic" genre...

It' a very sensitive song inspired by the Natascha Kampusch story and other victims of sexual abuse.

Feel free to comment.

HIS FACE

How does it feel
will it ever heal
can you wash away the memory
can you forget so easily
his face

Can you think of walking again
Breathing in the open air
We've seen it, we've seen it all but
How do you feel?

Can you love again or do you hate
the one who did you harm, wanted your pain
we've seen it, we've seen your fears but
How do you feel?

Will it ever heal
can you wash away the memory
can you forget so easily
his face

His face is all I see
at nights when I can't sleep
His hands all over me
when friends are cuddling me
His voice is all I hear
when someone's talking to me
His breath is all I feel
when wind caresses me
so...

How do I feel?
How do I feel?
It will never heal
I can't wash away the memory
I can't forget so easily
His face

i'm impressed, nice song.
victems of these kinda things may not be forgotten.
i like it very much, only i miss a drum, some hihats, cymbals and snares played with a brush or maybe a rimsnare could add a nice finishing touch, but that's personal flavour.
and maybe there is no accoustic section 'cause it's ELECTRObel, didn't zark created this for electronic music? anyway, a section for accoustic bands would be nice, giving those musicians a spot in our community

anyhow, hope we can expect more things like this here

peace

good song! it just could use a little more "pit" maybe it is because there are no drums, that's something that immediatly caught my attention, there'd be more tension with some nice jazzy drums on the background... nevertheles this is good work!

Good job people, I hope despite of the dramatic theme you've enjoyed doing this session ! It's always a pleasure to see some fresh sounds and real sensations through your performance :)
For the masteriz., your voice sounds a bit upfront and the violin out of tone but globaly the result sounds great. +

miljaarde, impressive!

Now that's a mature song 200% finished!
Damn, what an arrangement. You've put a nice assembly of musicians together here, and the song is a top notch composition, indeed true singer-songwriter style. But my man, from a melodic point of view the progressions and transitions are great!

The lyrics are very adequate and to-the-point, they seem to handling the topic from a mature point of view, and I'm sure the victims themselves would relate with them (I personally thought the "his face is all I see...."-stanza is an awesome description of how they must feel).

The combination with the female voice works very well too.
Good job menneke, verdorie speaking of arrangement, manman, tien op tien.

Good job Erik!
