Description

80 bpm C min

EDIT 1:

Changed the song structure and added 5 NI Massive tracks to the existing 5 Korg R3 tracks.

Lullaby in C minor.

First track made with my brandnew Korg R3. Beats on EMX. Mix and Recording on Ableton Live.

Any advice on where to go from here more than welcome.

nice one , but i think you're in need of an extra element here

Waaw.. No use of many sounds in this one, but you sure know how to select your
sounds! and make deep feelings come up.. I really hope you'll update the song someday.. It has so much potential to make it a more amazing track with those sounds and notes.. It makes people think! Maybe add a chill/quiet break.. one who gently caress the rest of the song.. That's what i would do.. But Still that choise is up to you! :d

Grts,

very nice, !!! would use somekind of reverb on the hats sometimes, make it more spacy .. maybe gentle vocal in it.. but, agin , very nice in my opinion.
like the simplicity in it ...

thanks people.

Indeed this song lacks quite some work. Also am I not really persuaded about the structure. I posted it under ICZ to collect some ideas about where to go from here. Simplicity was one of the main limits I set myself.

So please... share what this song tells you. I am very keen on your advice.

i would indeed add some more elements, like a soundscape or something. i like the melodie and beat, but i would use another kick, with a more acoustic feeling.
grtz.

J'aime bien ;)

BpOlar [be] - 15 years ago

maybe it needs some additional layering ... phasing in & out

Rag [be] - 15 years ago

nice idea, it sounds idd a bit empty, which is nice but it's a bit repeating imo,, some other parts wouldn't hurt i think...

Skip [be] - 15 years ago

lovely vibe.

maybe give one element more reverb to create a certain space between elements.
or little details.
or a soundscape behind everything.
or more and more piano notes towards the end.
or a subtle evolution towards an upbeat beat,4/4 becoming 4/8
or an extra element wich doesnt supports the melody but rather just little noises wich function as a little machine wich provides the power for your little melody (melody box)
or verry low pads or strings to have a solid basis...to work it all out into something more and more complex to finally end up with that first sweet melody.
or just work on it impulsively, can have great results sometimes.

enjoyed it :))

bin j'ai rien dit?????
long.....

very nice start
agree with Skip but not "or" but "and" in 2'37"...... :))

reaman [be] - 15 years ago

you laid down the basic of a nice track but if I had my way with it I'd do the following:
make the melody a tad more breathy, add some bg-noise from some deepspace recording and add some drones in which you could fade-out and fade in the melody.
Just my opinion.

sermeq [be] - 15 years ago

Hey...
first of all...good work.
I agree with skip in the most points (reverb-soundscapes-strings), but
I would also add some sound-fx (water, wind o.s.) to the beginning of the track, or make it a little bit shorter...:-))

Distreality [be] - 15 years ago

very good, but indeed an extra element wouldn't hurt...
maybe a pad that occurs once in a while, not too dominating, but subtle...

virlyn [be] - 15 years ago

a subtle string would be nice
like it!

grim [be] - 14 years ago

cool sounds, love the atmo...
like the evolution of the track
sounds a bit empty imo, adding som low string like skip said would be nice... but i'm curious how it would sound with a funky-sounding-bassguitar... then again... the simplicty is what it makes so sweet imo...

liquidbass [be] - 14 years ago

Well in a first step there's a vocalist working with the track... then... lateron a cellist...

grim [be] - 14 years ago

mmm, looking forward... :)

dontwakemeup [be] - 14 years ago

grim [be] - 14 years ago

damn... i like the voice... the atmo is very cool imo... sounds like the voice is coming from another dimension... like its not a part of the track. weirdness that me likes!
