I aint a huge fan of down-tempo, but the way you made your breaks makes it sound faster (& more entertaining).
Cant give you advices as a newcomer in the music area, so do whatever you want :P
Nice song,

but maybe add some more effects to the basskick, snare and hihat, i mean the structure of the drums are ok but the sound is a bit ordinary, if i may say so

maybe also use more hihats. you just use one hihat and a little crash sound. dont make your hihat too loud either, so they'll sound nicely intergrated to the basskick. otherwise you hear too much the difference between hihat and basskick. its better if its sounds organic and 'as one'
maybe on the basskick a little distortion and /or equalizing to make it deeper and 'richer' and more 'connected with the bassline'
thats just what i would do, there are so many effx you can use. experiment!
and i'll say it again, really nice structure of the drums, certainly when it fastens, thumps up
