maybe more FX on the voice (reverb, compression..) it has a too high 'karaoke' feeling for the moment and i think by adding more fx, it will melt better. (and i dont want to be a pain in the ass, but tis af en toe wa vals.. :p )

The vocas are pretty good !!! with no efx on it. But you need efx and maybe a better mic....+ eq....
It's a hell of a job !!! to fnd the best efxs on a voice.

you asked me to check the vocals. well everything sounds good to me except one moment around 2.45 on the word "so", that interfers with the new melody coming up.

ziggy: i intentionally didn't use fx on the vocals... maybe i could when i have time to try some things out...
filmjolk: you're right... at first there was another violinpart behind that vocal but i changed it afterwards and the vocal didn't so hence the little disphony...
kinet: i confess, this is don with a mic even my two year old kid could buy...
distreality: aphone referred to crooners on the wall, maybe he's right cuz' it's the kinda songs i like to sing when i'm alone... yeah, to me it sounds funny as well. Must be a strange thing hearing yourself sing on the radio for the first time.

Well I'm happy you finally found the guts to try out some vocals, good job. Hope you'll continue this way... always nice to see/hear people take it to the next level and share their views through some lyrics (cheesy or not :p). Doesn't sound that off-key to me, don't think any vocal fx would fit on this one and yes like you said no need to cover up inaccuracies, only gives your song more feeling and sincerity.

But yes as for the music, very kiddy-like ballad ;) Especially in the beginning. Besides there are some clicks on your notes not sure if you noticed but it's disturbing.

Your voice reminded me of the good ol' popjazz music from 20s and 30s btw.

when yu have two kids and you hear nothing but Dora, bob the builder, tik tak, hopla, nijntje, plop etc. one gets pretty infected by those childish melodies...

It has something cinematographic...very original. I like the first part, with the short thightened chords. The voice sounds off mix, maybe lower the low mid frequencies...

thx for the comment Kolf, you might be right, i don't have enough experience with the instrument "voice" yet to make it merge with other instruments smoothly. Working on another song with vocals, will try to make them a bit more in the song than above or aside of the mix.
