reaman - when you

feels like stepping in the arena - offering my flesh for the hungry lions...

first attempt to really sing on this classical kiddyballad-like track (with absolute minimal rythm and silent electronic underlayer).... sorry for the corny lyrics... don't tell me they are, i know!

hehe, nice one
maybe more FX on the voice (reverb, compression..) it has a too high 'karaoke' feeling for the moment and i think by adding more fx, it will melt better. (and i dont want to be a pain in the ass, but tis af en toe wa vals.. :p )
anyway was nice listening

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

well, the lack of efx is to accentuate the voice, not to muffle inaccuracies away...
thx for the comment

ziggy [be] - 13 years ago

yes maybe put fx on the voice or turn the track volume a bit down!
good ideas in

Distreality [be] - 13 years ago

funny vocals ;-)

nice little track....i like it

Kinet [be] - 13 years ago

The vocas are pretty good !!! with no efx on it. But you need efx and maybe a better mic....+ eq....
It's a hell of a job !!! to fnd the best efxs on a voice.

Nice tune !!
I think you have a little lucky one....

filmjolk [be] - 13 years ago

hello :)
sweet lullaby!
you asked me to check the vocals. well everything sounds good to me except one moment around 2.45 on the word "so", that interfers with the new melody coming up.
nice and brave challenge ;)

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

ziggy: i intentionally didn't use fx on the vocals... maybe i could when i have time to try some things out...
filmjolk: you're right... at first there was another violinpart behind that vocal but i changed it afterwards and the vocal didn't so hence the little disphony...
kinet: i confess, this is don with a mic even my two year old kid could buy...
distreality: aphone referred to crooners on the wall, maybe he's right cuz' it's the kinda songs i like to sing when i'm alone... yeah, to me it sounds funny as well. Must be a strange thing hearing yourself sing on the radio for the first time.
thx for checking out and the comments..

Sapaj [be] - 13 years ago

remind me a artist, thunder stick, under stic? hammerstick? arrf help me
good composition, very good

MucH [be] - 13 years ago

Niice, feel good when i listening to it :)

The voice are cool, fx on it ??? Maybe a little reverb but not much for my taste

Thumbs up

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

sapaj: can't help you man, if it was made after some artist i knew i'd tell you, no shame in that
much: no fx used, could use slight reverb indeed but isn't necessary imo... glad you liked it

Erophin [be] - 13 years ago

wel i was really entertained man ...listened to every detaille of it ..and i was listening like a gentil garçon^^
i like ur instrumentals very much and the songs mood gots someting of ' singing in the rain' but slower more relaxed. singing is nice ! i just would more articulate some words ..big fav ...

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

erophin: check out the lazysnake free vst to create half of the song...
i also used free violin soundfont and cellofan for cello....
glad you liked it (as a gentil garçon :.) )

quioui [be] - 13 years ago

i like your chords, but your instruments are a bit lousy, try to fix that a bit. Your vibraphone is good, but all the rest is poverish quality. So just fetch yourself a good pack of vst, or make yer own and you're
singing in casinos with your crooners ;)à

and yes it is a crooner

Funky [be] - 13 years ago

Jééj...Really cool man :) Reaman's more 'vunourable' side ;) Nice attempt your singing :) Versatil fella, as I said before ;) Keep on doing your thing..Grtz

kaoz [be] - 13 years ago

sweet lullaby sleepy song !!
nice -- maybe add some samples -- spacy or disney

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

Gosh, really didn't think you'd buy this song...
One is always anxious to expose that "vulnerable" side but i feel confident enough now to have other attemps as well. Working on similar song but with more vocals (and better lyrics)...

Thanks guys (and girl) for support. Really appreciate it a lot.

I'm also looking for songs yet on ebel that could use a vocal to try sumtin' out.

Rabauw [be] - 13 years ago

Well I'm happy you finally found the guts to try out some vocals, good job. Hope you'll continue this way... always nice to see/hear people take it to the next level and share their views through some lyrics (cheesy or not :p). Doesn't sound that off-key to me, don't think any vocal fx would fit on this one and yes like you said no need to cover up inaccuracies, only gives your song more feeling and sincerity.

But yes as for the music, very kiddy-like ballad ;) Especially in the beginning. Besides there are some clicks on your notes not sure if you noticed but it's disturbing.

Your voice reminded me of the good ol' popjazz music from 20s and 30s btw.

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

when yu have two kids and you hear nothing but Dora, bob the builder, tik tak, hopla, nijntje, plop etc. one gets pretty infected by those childish melodies...

Rabauw [be] - 13 years ago

Bob de Rabauwer :)
I would rather claim the contrary, if you hear those funny melodies all day long I'd assume it would be the last thing you wanna make yourself...
Oh well anyway.

Kolf [be] - 13 years ago

It has something cinematographic...very original. I like the first part, with the short thightened chords. The voice sounds off mix, maybe lower the low mid frequencies...

reaman [be] - 13 years ago

thx for the comment Kolf, you might be right, i don't have enough experience with the instrument "voice" yet to make it merge with other instruments smoothly. Working on another song with vocals, will try to make them a bit more in the song than above or aside of the mix.

rf061992 [be] - 13 years ago
