yenneman - Hours & Shores

Description

Hello.

Even though it's summer, I don't have much time on my hands.
This is a small, short song about taking a trip along the coast of nostalgia. The sound isn't yet how it's supposed to be, but it's good enough I guess...
Enjoy.

Heavily influenced by & many thanks to: Joe Hisaishi, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Air.

Amai van een glasheldere productie gesproken....! Damn this is a beauty in its own modesty. Everything fits in the song and no detail is overlooked. This is undisputedly a top class production.

I don't speak of melodies, etc... for it's a soundtrack, it's supposed to thrive on feelings and emotions. And that, it sure does! I'm a fan of crystal clear mixing and angelic/heavenly instruments, so "Belgium, 12 points!" from me for that matter.

It's not like I could listen to it at any given moment probably, I suppose you have to be in the right mood for stuff like this, which I luckily am right now after a tiring day at work...

But damn, it's the production that makes my mouth fall open in astonishment. I'm listening again and again, and I'm discovering infinite details, in the front and the back, but they all make perfect sense in the larger picture.

All the right drum sounds, mixed at the perfect level. Melodies, arrangement, add-ons, fx, high freqs vs low, all in total balance...

And those angelic voices....oooh they make me close my eyes.

This song should be a tutorial for mixing it right, and everyone who's wondering how to balance a song cannot escape this one! Driewerf hoera voor een prachtgeluid!
