reaman - both of you

Ever felt like having to choose between two persons?

(Edit: I'm new in making this kind of music... guitar and vocals are a one-take recording... but this is a newer version with less inaccuracies... and some percussion)

all music and arangement by me.
It's a singer-songwriter track so it shouldn't be here in folk. When the dance and rock genre gets subdivided I will find a more suitable place for this track.

Scared to lose
'cuz I can't choose between
the both of you
Scared to choose
'cuz I might lose
the both of you

And my heart is torn in two
yes it bleeds for the both of you
I hate it when I have to say
I'm losing you
And I know waiting is no good
Picking sides is what I should
I hate it but I'll have to say
I'm losing you

And my angels are here today
a hell if they look my way
a devil if I can say
I'm losing you
and my angels are here today
a hell if they look my way
a devil makes me say
I'm losing you

I know what it means to be
Not standing there in the cold

And I know waiting is no good
Picking sides is what I should
I hate it but I'll have to say
I'm losing you (8x)

the both of you (4x)

sorry, I accidently added a thumb up on my own track...

ELFENKOMMANDO [be] - 12 years ago

who cares ... even if you should have added 27 thumbs up, it wouldn't matter man ... this is sumthin' i could hear any day on stubru, when i'm riding to work m8 ... really pro-made, and excellent production - as usual. (what compressor did u youse for the voice? it sounds a little like that nomad factory blue tubes, but without the 'vintage' dusty sauce all over it ...) really really nice - as usual :))

reaman [be] - 12 years ago

the only thing I used for the recording was my zoom recorder and added a little reverb on the whole track (ie. guitar and vocals)

in my fruity loops there was a little compression (don't ask me what kind of...) on the whole song

a heart-warming comment like yours is much appreciated!!

Hey Reaman, it's beautiful, what's the very fourth guitar chord in international alphabet? I'm learning guitar and i like this chord. :) so tell me if you agree... Simon Dos

shit, man, :(
sorry for your difficult situation. Like they say in gardening: "check for the roots" - the flowers aren't so important, their sweet and sometimes soooo tender, but the roots are with what your living. For more flowers, beautifuller, year after year....

transynth [be] - 12 years ago

Really nice try. Just a thought..but couldn't this use some deeper bassnotes? i feel like missing some low freqs.Might give it a try there it's nice already :)

reaman [be] - 12 years ago

thx Kinet for your concern.. but it's just a song...
@ MrNice: thx a lot man, uploading an even better version very soon
@Transynth: you might be right but for now it's the best I can do. as said: I hear the notes your missing but I can't play nor program them.

Nice song! The only thing that bothers me are the beats. I would leave it more minimalistic and intimate, without the beats... But that's just my (personal) opinion, so don't mind me :)

reaman [be] - 12 years ago

@ falcon: I'm glad this song makes you think of whatever it may be... as long as it doesn't pass unnoticed. thx (and it's honest, not anest)

@antares: did you hear the previous version too...? It was with more minimalistic percussion. Everybody has it's own vision. i intentionally added some because it was like an exercice to me. I think the percussion has an extra value in the parts where also synths play, maybe in the "strophes" it isn't necessary. Thx for listening.

bandarlog [be] - 12 years ago

wowie! Properkes! Nice compo & recording! But you really need bass :)

reaman [be] - 12 years ago

have asked liquidbass... for bass it is.
someone might make a houseremix as well...

Rabauw [be] - 12 years ago

Jah man gooooood song again, when will we see your name appear on the Dranouter-bill?

Hmh cello doesn't sound like it should. Needs a bit more reverb and push it more towards the back.
I prefer the rhodes/organesque sound.

The break at 2'25" is really good. The touch of the piano gives some contrast that's good too.

But not my favorite Reaman.

SylvaindeMerode [be] - 11 years ago

I haven't listen to your changes yet since the first version. It's very cool and fresh.
Some points I dislike : the brightness sometimes too hard and the instrument in the background wich doens't sound real enough.
