CruizeOfFiction - Unit 731

New darkstep track with a sprinkle of hardcore on top

Low KB/sec version

Unit 731 is to Japan what doctor Mengele was to Auswitch.
Unit 731 is an institution, a unit of the Japanese army that conducted medical tests on US, European and Chinese citisens during the second world war. Unit 731, unther Shiro Ishii, performed living disections, did high pressure tests, tested biological warfare and more on Japanese state-prisoners.
For a discusting list of tests by Unit 731 (and more info) go to:

I mixed some vocals to fit the content. The intro is pretty soft but with a threatning mood in it. The breaks part is very hardcore oriented with lots of glitches and details.

Pleased with the result. I made every synth, bass, kicks, stabs, atmo, texture from scratch and I made some new breaks especially for this track (to be rid of all the naggers who claim that reusing your own sounds is lame)

Sounds made using the operator and general Ableton Live 7 FX
Vocals taken from The Elephant Man and Hard Candy

comments are welcome!

I uploaded a preview version, Basement Plague recordings asked me for another song to release so I gave them this one.

More info: www.myspace.com/basementplaguerecordings

EDIT: Ow crap, seemed to have uploaded a completely wrong song in the previous edit about a month ago, but anyways, right version now (semi-imbarassing how crappy the old song was I uploaded instead of the right one^^)

comments can be dropped

great track baby, i love the euh exotic part maybe you should introduce it somewhat more in between the breaks , great sounds used and cleanly treated, hoera!

HyeVolture [be] - 12 years ago

mengele was in fact just the assistent of von verschuer (weetje tussen de soep en de patatten), so the angel of death was in fact the assistent of the real angel of death.

never heard of unit whatsoever actually. you keep us updated on the horrors all over the world, all over history.

about the track: nice to hear a new one, it's been a while. cool hardcore orientated song, very cof. thumb.

CruizeOfFiction [be] - 12 years ago

aja angel of death van slayer was op mengele gebaseerd zeker?

HyeVolture [be] - 12 years ago

Skip [be] - 12 years ago

yeah cool one.
hey Id say;boost those pads more, especcially when the breaks play.can barely hear them.
good work on di ditails duud.(although the end sounds for my taste too much like the beginning, jaa kijk jaa

spetsen ze!

CruizeOfFiction [be] - 12 years ago

good to hear some of you enjoy it

I know its a bit dryn, and the pads power is more in the low frequencies so hard to hear on normal speakers, so a mini-update is coming soon. I've allready changed some stuff but I'll see how the postexam inspiration treats me

thanks fro commenting

MazeS [be] - 12 years ago

nice man, it's kinda 'rechtdoor' compared to your other songs, i prefer the heavy break work over the hardcore approach but still a fat boomin track

been readin the unit's activities, it really makes you wonder what else governments are covering up, even these days
ah well, it's like they say, reality outmatches fiction (by far)

thumb up

Youre a sick fuck... and I love it

Janus [be] - 11 years ago

I really like your DStep tunes, the way you put those screams on top (2:27 :) ) & of course the big hardcore kick.

My god do you have a lot of spelling mistakes in your song description dude! And as a linguist in English by education, that hurts my ears man....
But okay, we're here for the music of course ;-)

Yeah it bounces on the edge of dnb and hardcore, love those mutes you use here and there.

I can tell you've spent lots of time on the beatwork/fx, that's quite a task wouldn't be able to do that myself.
