kiande - glaucopsyche

Description

a slow and rather sad song (no specific reason why, it just turned out this way), made in one evening with reason 2.5. perhaps it could use some more effects and earcandy.. but for this song, i adopted eddie's philosophy which states that it's more enjoyable to create ideas without getting consumed by details which in the end do not matter much.

btw, a glaucopsyche is a small blue butterfly saved from extinction by the efforts of former prisoners.

I know what you mean regarding "details" you talk about. But in that case you primarely make the music for yourself I think. If you take it a step further to a "public", I think subtil, very subtil details are the secret of a song that keeps people listening to it over and over, 'cause tey have the feeling the song is alive and organic.
Now some comments on this song :)
Until 2min12sec the song is very very deep and organic, but the synths that come in are a bit artificial...ok, ok, synths are by definition synthetic :)) but maybe subtil filtering and balancing some effects on these synths could make them blend more with the song. These stringsynths are an important emotion for this song, so I think it's worth some more time to make them more alive.
For the rest I think this song is pretty much finished and very nice btw ;)

The first part is somewhat boring and too long, but the stringparts around 3:30 are awesome! They give the song an extra touch and feel. A shorter edit would do the song good though.
