kiande - Eta Carinae

At last a finished song after quite a while of silence! This song is dedicated to Eta Carinae, a massive star who survived its own explosion (see hubble site for a nice picture). Synthesizers wash, soar and growl over a slow but steady rhythm. Safe with most medications. Comments are welcome.

Super! The sound of the synths and beat is very nice made or chosen :) very old-fashioned sounding, my thing really. I hear a little overmodulation though, is that because of bad limiting or compresion? Really irritating :( This noise starts on 0min39sec, it is caused by that synth that comes in at that time I think.
But besides that I say: thumbs up! I'm gonna check out your other songs ;)

Btw, check out the electronic artist "Bola", the nostalgic character of this song reminds me of his music.

kiande [be] - 13 years ago

i like bola very much! btw, it's not the synthies (albino) that cause the noise, it's the breakbeat rhythm. i've tried to filter it out but that didn't work too well, soo i left it in ;)

MrZ: thanks for taking your time to comment on the songs! however, i'm not going to re-edit my older songs, it would drive me nuts working on the same material all the time ;)

I understand, maybe you let me remix them one day?

eddie [be] - 13 years ago

I'm in love with this track... the more you listen to it, the more you start liking it!!

Ha, I luv the sound of the percussion, you made the right choice of percussive elements. I always prefer percussion that sounds as if studio-recorded myself. The impression that I get of this song is though one of breathing a static breath, if you know what I mean. So again a shorter edit might do this song good, I dunno.

GBS [be] - 12 years ago

the intro sounds really cosmic till the moment when the "Oberheim"like bass comes in-well then it all gets really "Jarre"
and where is the explosion you were talkin bout???Wouldn't you like to picture it in your song?
Soft, yeas,velvet soft.Nostalgic bout 80's???Sure you are!
Even kinda erotic!!!Yes a dancing mysterious woman wearing nothing but a soft vale of the moonlight, dancing slowly...
