READYdot - Suffocating

Description

I love this track! But I'm really stuck with it! The voice is mine and also the small guitar part is live played from me (perhaps nothing big, but for me it is ^^) Used my EA-1 for the little acid-background sound, but now I don't know if I should end it without adding something or if it needs some kind of interlude... or even something else, but I think that the mastering is allready pweetty good!?

HELP! :) thnx!

UPDATE (26/11/06): So I changed the whole song a bit: changed the bass, took the distro from the drum, eqed the drums, lowered the guitar, added some fills for the drums, etc. Tell me what you think!

You have quite an entertaining voice to listen to.

I really would adjust the level of the cymbal, all too loud and all too noizy, also increase kick and snare. The vocals add quite a lot to the quality of the song.

the guitar is a nice addition but is also too loud, and you play too much release, try to fade-out that release in the mix.

It's a good song but from my point of view the final mixing could be better.

Thnx for the compliments! In fact it's not the cymabl being to loud, but the downsampling! I'll have to EQ that! Thnx for the worthy tips! Stay tuned!

Yes it's true, but I'd like to get away from the 100%quantization, but that is not an easy task to achieve manually, things like FLs Swing or Humanize do those things, but I prefer now working in Live to keep the natural analogue touch, but I'll try to make it less obvious! THNX!

Dared disto drums :) They give it an extra dimension...Your voice is good! It does sound a bit busy in some parts...Could be the swing in combination with the mix that gives me that impression..dunno..Guess you'll sort it out ;) Grtz

Thnx! It is always difficult for a sound-engeniering newb like me to get things right... often it's pure chance that the mix works ^^
