Funky - JazzAddict

Description

>> New edit...While searching for some percussion, I came across some other melo's, so i've put them in... Percussion is still on the weak site I think...Feedback is highly appreciated! Thx to cestqui for the tips on the mastering! Grtz

This one went fast...Started of with the basline..wich is a sample a friend of mine once played when he was here..Then I started searching for the scales .. I hope I got them right...Anyhow..This is a jazzy touched downtempo song...There's room for more, but allready wanted some feedback of the community ;-) Hope someone enjoy's...Grtz!

yeahhhh very groovy
i would use more delay s and reverbs and find a solution to ad some power to the track, dont no, something like percussion or a solo percution
this is really a excellent composition but the beat is too 'down' for me sometimes...
I did enjoy a lot while listenin ( sun, fresh water and good music!! :p )

yeah! grtz

@ Aphoneman --> Gracias! :-D Thx for the tips! I'll certainly taken them in mind! I had some shakers in it originally, but it seems that i've muted the track while exporting...Didn't noticed :-S Still got a lot to learn in the percussion section, but i'm surely gonna put some in it... And I think i'm gonna ask a friend of mine to solo a bit with his real guitar...I'm curious what that will give.. And meanwhile some other friend tried some lyrics on it and damnit I was impressed :D Anyway thx for the feedback!! Grtzz!!
@Djerem--> You jalous?? Noooo, I'm jalous of you!! :D Do u mind lending me your pianoskills for a month or so ;-) Thx for the enthousiastic comments! ;-) And thanks for the +fav! Grtz!!

not very difficult to make some percu home alone if you got a synth, just need some percu sounds like conga djembe or tablas ( you shurely know that) ,
but if you want i ve got samples... :p
sometimes it s helpfull!!

oh man, feels like sitting on a beach in cuba, people dancing everywhere...this is some exellent shit! only thing that I found could have been better is the fade out at the end: I would have faded out all the instruments except one with wich I'd make a little impro to end the song. it's a minor suggestion ;)

reaman [be] - 18 years ago

i love the way the song changes around 1'45''. Well done!
Very jazzy melody, could easily be played buy live musicians.... it could use (some more: did i hear a little background sax?) a good sax melody. This song cries for another three minutes with somewhere a cool solo break!

dorkbot [be] - 18 years ago

nice lazy groove... a bit repititive. sound a bit to much like a backing track that needs some more instruments/soloing on top. nice effort.

cestqui [be] - 18 years ago

i can tell more,about this song,then any-one else

deduuu,cause i've seen it!!!

just do not like all the rexes of the standart reasonbank;

indeed,its missing something,i recomand,
find suitable chords(will take long)

when retrieving the chords, that solo cant be a problem anymore

i see producing ,as a moral duty
like a soldier with a mision

and i go to batlle, with bare hands,

and the reason is,if ya use the samples, its good to make a quick song(base)but then ya get stuck,to finish it,if ya know your way around scales and chords,ya can win a intergalactic batllefield

still, nice production, but the add favs have to wait,i'm not spilling them around(in general)

Thanks guys!!! Really appreciate it!!
@heatfuse: Good idea! Would indeed be better to end it with some solo instrument. I'll certainly keep that 'minor' suggestion into account! Thx! Grtz
@reaman: I've tried some saxmelo's in reason, but wasn't happy with the high notes. I guess I have to rewire it then as cestqui suggests and use saxlab. I'll give that a go next time I edit this song! And i'm surprised to hear it could use another three minutes Normally I make 'em to long But the solo break would fit excellent imho...Thanks for the suggestion! Grtz
@dorkbot: Yep, I know what you mean...I have less instruments in this edit that really stand out & do a nifty solo....Thx for the feedback! Grtz
@cestqui: I do like those standard reason banks! And for the reason that it makes it a lot easier to concentrate on the other instruments & melo's. I can always change them or maken them better afterwards. But I know what you mean, using these makes it less my own... And i've used some chords and the scales that go along..Don't ask me wichone, because I don't now it by heart. But they're all made in the same one...Otherweis I guess you've pointed me on the wrong use of some scales/chords. And i'm also stuck with the bassline, wich is a sample, so I cant change that one...Unless I redo it...Thx for the feedback!! Grtz
@MrDeVille: Muchos gracias! ;-) Grtz!

Very good sound, nearly perfect!!!...and a lovely tune indeeed....but may need a bit more pinch in it.and now lit the joint...

Funky [be] - 18 years ago

Thanks guys! Really appreciate it!!

sciamachy [be] - 18 years ago

Great tune indeed.. It all really fits in the tune.
Are you working with recorded instruments? Or samples or vst's?

Funky [be] - 18 years ago

@ sciamachy: Thx ! It all comes out of reason....except for the lower sweeping bassline...That's a samp a friend of mine played & that's also were this song started... I guess I was lucky with the mixing because I usually keep screwing them up... Grtz
@ Kolf! Thanks for the compliment! As I wrote above...guess I had luck with thisone ;-) And ow yea... It is lit ;-) Grtz

Rabauw [be] - 18 years ago

Nice work with the flute, Funky.

Guitar on the right is too loud imo, it takes away too much of the focus on the background, and I want to concentrate on that beautiful flute. Maybe switch the volume settings (flute upfront <-> guitar background).

Also the other melodies don't really come out the way they should, because of the dominant guitar.

Funky [be] - 18 years ago

Thanks Rabauw! You're right...The guitar is kinda upfront..I'll try your tips..I think it might do the song some good...Have to retake it anyhow, one day... Grtz
